Muscat – The Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation (MoHERI) announced the three finalists chosen to represent the Sultanate of Oman at the 35th international, invention, innovation, technology competition and exhibition in Malaysia (ITEX 2024). The event is scheduled to be held in Kuala Lumpur from May 16 to 18, 2024.
First place was awarded to Imad Abdullah Bait Obaydoun for his innovation titled ‘Water treatment using the electrochemical method’. Second place went to Mazin Rashid al Badi for his innovation titled ‘Doctor Robot’, while third place was awarded to Tasnim Mohammed al Daoudi for her innovation titled ‘Dilution of heavy oil using hydrogen injection technology’.
Nisreen Yahya al Balushi, Assistant Director of the Department of Research and Innovation Capacity Building, stated that ITEX represents a market for inventions and innovations.
She added that the exhibition serves as an international platform to attract and explore new inventions and innovations from more than 20 countries in Asia and Europe. The event will showcase over 1,000 inventions in various categories.
